Established in 2013, Kane Ecology is one of the leading independent ecological consultancies in Northern Ireland. We provide a full range of ecological surveys and assessments, mitigation options, mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions, and a range of professional training courses.
We specialise in ecological surveys, assessments and appraisals that may be needed for planning applications. Ecological survey requirements typically requested by planners and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) are available here.

In addition to ecological surveys, we also provide a number of bespoke mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) development services. Mapping and GIS can be useful for all sorts of organisations and individuals from conservation to asset management.
Our range of professional training courses cover the most common types of ecological survey and assessment techniques. We also provide training in software including industry-standard GIS applications and specialist ecological analysis applications such as bat call analysis software.
