Who are we?
Kane Ecology was founded by Dr. Dellwyn Kane MCIEEM in 2013 following fourteen years in the environmental sector, the preceeding five of which were spent working as a freelance ecological consultant. Kane Ecology employs a team of up to 6 experienced ecologists at any one time, each with their own areas of expertise.
Each member of the Kane Ecology team follows the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) ‘Code of Professional Conduct’ and all aspects of our work follow current best practice guidelines. We maintain a high level of Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance and are committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
What do we stand for?
Above everything else we stand for honesty and professional integrity. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality underpin everything that we do. We aim to set the highest possible standards in ecological consultancy, and will always look for ways to improve our working practices and our professional skills.
We are committed to giving our clients the best advice and the best service possible. We aim to save you time and money, where possible, through our knowledge of ecological and planning issues and through clever ecological design.
Of course, as ecologists, we are committed to best practice management of our environment, and we take this commitment very seriously. In addition to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), our annual volunteering commitments include conducting bat surveys for Bat Conservation Ireland (BCI) and the Bat Conservation Trust (BCT), butterfly surveys for Butterfly Conservation Northern Ireland (BCNI), bird surveys for the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO), and botanical surveys for Plantlife.
